PRE-LAUNCHApp one of the Nth Cart family

Crowdwave

Two engines in one install. A real-time visitor counter for your product pages that flatly refuses to invent a number, and an opt-in exchange that puts your products in other merchants' “You may also like” slots.

Crowdwave is not on the Shopify App Store yet. Everything below is the real component running in your browser, with staged data — there is no live traffic to show you until merchants are installing it.

THE WHOLE POINT

When nobody's looking, we show nothing

Most social proof apps pick a number out of a range and call it traffic. Crowdwave doesn't. Take the real visitor count down to zero and watch what the widget does.

  • No minimum count
  • No multiplier
  • No random range
  • No demo data mode

There's no setting to turn one on, because we never built one.

WHAT CROWDWAVE ACTUALLY IS

Two apps wearing one trench coat

One install, one dashboard, one subscription. Two completely different ways to move product — and either one runs perfectly well without the other.

ENGINE 01

Live visitor counter

Real-time counts on your product pages, store-wide or per product.

  • Theme app block — drop it anywhere in the theme editor
  • Themes, colours, icons and styles, so it looks like your design
  • Live and historical visitor analytics, per product

ENGINE 02

Cross-store exchange

Your products in other merchants' "You may also like". Theirs in yours.

  • AI categorization so placements stay contextually sane
  • Country-level targeting, and your own shop excluded automatically
  • A hard cap of four promoted items per page

The exchange is opt-in. Install Crowdwave, leave the network switched off, and nothing about your product page changes except the counter.

ENGINE 01 — THE COUNTER

A counter your shoppers have no reason to doubt

Live visitor counts, store-wide or per product, updating as people arrive and leave. Pick how it looks, then drop it above your add-to-cart in the theme editor — or anywhere else your layout wants it.

Pick a style — the preview updates instantly.

Everything in that box is the actual widget component, styled by the actual settings. There is no screenshot on this page.

And every count it shows lands in the dashboard — live and historical, per product, inside your Shopify admin.

GETTING IT LIVE

Three steps, none of which involve a developer

  1. 1. Install the app

One click from the Shopify App Store. Embedded admin, standard permissions, nothing to configure before it works.

  2. 2. Drop the block

It's a theme app block, so it lives in the theme editor with everything else. Above the add-to-cart is the popular spot, but it goes wherever your layout wants it.

  3. 3. Make it yours

Theme, colours, icon, style, and whether the count is store-wide or per product. Then leave it alone and read the dashboard.

  • One-click uninstall
  • No leftover theme code
  • Nothing render-blocking in front of your add-to-cart
  • No theme files edited, ever

The counter starts counting from your next visitor. There is no seeding, no backfill and no historical import, because there is nothing honest to import.

ENGINE 02 — THE EXCHANGE

Borrow someone else's traffic. Lend them yours.

Your product appears in the "You may also like" slot on a partner store's product page. Theirs appear on yours. No bidding, no ad account, no agency.

Illustrative figures. Yours will be whatever they actually are.

How the exchange works, in four steps:

  1. Your store
  2. AI sorts your catalogue into real categories
  3. A matching partner's product page
  4. Four of theirs come back to you

The partner store's readout shows illustrative impressions and clicks figures, not measured ones. Every fifth product is turned away at the halfway point because it matched the merchant's own shop, which is excluded automatically.

  • Own-shop exclusion

Will I end up advertising to my own customers?

No. Your shop is excluded from your own placements automatically, at every plan level. You never pay to advertise to yourself.

  • A hard cap of four

Is my product page about to become a billboard?

No. Four promoted items, maximum, ever. That ceiling is a product decision, not a starting point we plan to raise.

  • Country-level targeting

Will I get impressions in countries I don't ship to?

Only if you ask for them. Target by country so your placements land where you can actually take the order.

  • Impressions and clicks

How do I know it's doing anything?

You get impressions and clicks per promotion in the dashboard. We won't promise you traffic volume — we'll show you the numbers and let you decide.

Reciprocity, stated plainly: you show, so you get shown. And if you'd rather not, the counter works perfectly well on its own.

QUIET ≠ BROKEN

Sometimes it shows nothing. That's the feature.

Every other app in this category has the same failure mode — the widget silently stops rendering and the merchant finds out from a customer. Crowdwave renders nothing on purpose when there's nobody there, so here is exactly how to tell those two apart.

BROKEN — EVERY OTHER APP

Cedar & Smoke Candle

$28.00

An empty container, a loading shimmer that never resolves, or a stubborn 0 sitting above your add-to-cart.

Illustrative demo. The counts in these three frames are staged — Crowdwave is pre-launch, so there is no live traffic to show you yet.

Ad blockers can't eat what they can't recognise

A large share of desktop shoppers browse with a blocker on, and blockers pattern-match tracking domains, known asset filenames and known widget class names. That's why social proof widgets quietly vanish for the people running them — and why an honest counter is worthless if a third of your shoppers never see it. Crowdwave was engineered around that from day one.

  • Neutral asset filenames
  • Neutral class names
  • Neutral request paths

One theme app block, self-contained, nothing injected page-wide and nothing render-blocking in front of your add-to-cart. We're not publishing millisecond benchmarks we haven't measured on your store.

HOW TO TELL

The dashboard keeps reporting a live heartbeat even while the widget is rendering nothing. Quiet page, healthy app — and you can check it in ten seconds without emailing anyone.

THE CATEGORY, AND US

We're not naming anyone. Go read the listings.

How typical social proof apps behave, compared with how Crowdwave behaves.

  • Typical social proof apps:

Invents a number when traffic is low, from a range you configure

    Crowdwave:

Never invents a number. There is no range to configure.
  • Typical social proof apps:

Shows a 0, an empty box or a loading shimmer on a quiet page

    Crowdwave:

Renders nothing at all, and the dashboard still shows a heartbeat
  • Typical social proof apps:

Stretches the lookback window until "right now" means "yesterday"

    Crowdwave:

Counts sessions that are happening now, and says so in the widget copy
  • Typical social proof apps:

Gets eaten by ad blockers and nobody tells you

    Crowdwave:

Neutral filenames, class names and request paths, from day one
  • Typical social proof apps:

Bundles stock-scarcity counters that claim low stock you don't have

    Crowdwave:

No stock counters. Not on the roadmap, and that's a decision, not an oversight.
  • Typical social proof apps:

Charges you extra to stop showing other merchants' ads on your own store

    Crowdwave:

The exchange is opt-in on every plan, and off is free

Every row on the left is something you can go and verify in a public app listing this afternoon. We'd rather you did.

WHAT IT'LL COST

Basic, Pro, Premium. Three plans, no maze.

The exact numbers land with the App Store listing. We're not putting placeholder prices on a website whose entire argument is that we don't make numbers up.

Counter only ⟷ Counter + exchange
  • Basic

For a store that wants the counter and nothing else

Price at launch: not announced yet.

    • Live visitor counter, store-wide or per product
    • Theme app block, full styling
    • Live and historical analytics
    • Exchange available, switched off by default
  • Pro

For a store that wants the network working for it

Price at launch: not announced yet.

    • Everything in Basic
    • Cross-store exchange enabled (exchange only)
    • AI product categorization (exchange only)
    • Country-level targeting (exchange only)
    • Impression and click analytics (exchange only)
    MOST LIKELY YOU
  • Premium

For a store running this properly

Price at launch: not announced yet.

    • Everything in Pro
    • The full four promoted slots (exchange only)
    • Priority support from the person who wrote the code

Waitlist members see the real numbers before anyone else and keep the founding rate for as long as they stay subscribed. What we won't do: invent a spots-remaining counter, run a countdown timer, or tell you the price goes up on Friday. We'd be the worst possible company to try that on.

Turning the exchange off is free on every plan. Charging a merchant to stop showing other people's ads on their own store is exactly the kind of thing we built this to be the opposite of.
